As I mentioned in my last Currently Craving post, I am seriously crushing on Nordic / Scandinavian decor. I have been trying to add little nods to this bold decor style to every room in our home. Scandinavian people have really figured out how to make clean, monochromatic decor feel cozy, inviting and warm. One trend that has been jumping out at me recently is the Swiss cross pattern. There are many color variations on this pattern but black and white is both my favorite and the most prevalent.
It can be hard to trace a decor trend back to it’s roots but it certainly seems like the, Pia Wallen’s irresistible throw that we started seeing everywhere a few years ago had something to do with bringing this pattern into the main stream. Now we are seeing this bold geometric pattern pop up as rugs, framed prints and throw pillows.
My temptation, as it always is with a new decor crush, is to cover my home in Swiss cross everything but, I will resist. Almost all of my favorite Swiss cross images have been of simple throws so for now I have ordered this surprisingly affordable one from amazon to satiate my obsession.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this Scandinavian trend. Do you love it or hate it? What is your latest decor crush?
