I spent last weekend sipping what I have dubbed my “seasonal transition cocktail” while I pulled out a few of my favorite fall home accents. I only recently had my first Bee’s Knee’s and I can’t believe I have gone without this drink my whole life. Lemon has been my flavor of the summer and thanks to a new source for local honey, I’m pretty sure that honey will end up with a staring role this fall.
This simple little cocktail takes less than two minutes to make and is so unbelievably delicious. So while the temperatures allow, enjoy a few last chilled cocktails outside!
You will need:
- 3 tbs of honey water
- 3 tbs of lemon
- 2 oz of gin
First pop your cocktail glass of choice in the freezer to get it nice and cold. Next, put a generous tablespoon of honey in your cocktail shaker and add 2(ish) tbs of hot water (I just use the hot water from my tap). Swirl the water and honey around in your shaker until the honey is dissolved. Add your ice, gin and lemon juice. Finally, shake vigorously and pour into your chilled glass.
This morning’s walk to work actually felt like fall and I was grinning from ear to ear the whole way. Make sure you find time for some front porch cocktails before sweater weather gets here!
