Men are notoriously hard to buy gifts for because 9 times out of 10 when they realize they need or want something they just pick it up on the way home from work. For that reason, I typically start brainstorming for Daniel and the other guys in my life around July. It’s usually easy to come up with one unique thing they each of them need but then I am left stumped, trying to come up with a that second gift that is thoughtful and practical.
If your significant others, brothers and fathers are anything like mine, you can typically get them a gift from one of two camps that they will undoubtedly appreciate yet wouldn’t have thought of themselves. Those two camps are “Bar Swag,” or basically anything to upgrade his bar or at home cocktail experience and grooming/ accessories. I lump self care and accessories together because they are those little extra things that guys would appreciate but typically can’t be bothered to seek out themselves.
1. Carry on Cocktail Kit, $24.00
This is the perfect gift for the jet setter in your life. Hook him up with the tools to put together a hand crafted cocktail on his next flight.
2. Monogrammed decanter, $42.00
An elegant addition for any gentleman’s bar.
3. Buffalo Plaid Flask, $14.99
This flask makes me want to hike to the top of a snowy mountain and enjoy a few swigs with my guy while taking in an expansive view of snow capped trees.
4. Whiskey Stone Set, $9.99
The perfect stocking stuffer for the whiskey drinker in your life.
5. ‘Blueprint’ Double Old Fashioned, $10.00
I love the way the blueprint on this double old fashioned glass turns an every day item into a conversation piece.
6. No-Shave Kit, $48.00
The perfect gift if you’re lucky enough to have a bearded man in your life. Beard maintenance is no joke and there’s a real trend of men taking pride in their beard care.
7. Tie Bar, $39.50
Tie bars make an amazing gift because they are incredibly practical and they are rarely something guys think to buy for themselves.
8. Buffalo Plaid Tie, $69.50
I am currently obsessed with this uniquely american plaid. This buffalo check tie is so masculine and would be a welcome hint of lumberjack to an otherwise formal outfit.
I hope this list was helpful and maybe even inspired you to think of something I left off! Please comment below with any thing you have gifted your guy in the past that was a smashing success or even something you already have ready for this year!
